Rolla Lessons & Classes
Rolla Skate Club Classes & Workshops take place at Skate Church – 2167 West 45th Ave, Vancouver.
So where should you start?
If you are new to rollerskating or starting up after a long absence we recommend starting with our Intro to Rollerskating class. This semi-private class (max 8 skaters) covers all the basics with one-on-one coach support so you can get rolling safely. The class price includes rollerskate and protective gear rental if you need it (or you’re welcome to bring your own!) Once you’ve completed that class you can jump into any one of our other drop in classes… or if you feel like you need a bit more time to work on the basics – you are more that welcome to repeat the class. We know that everyone’s learning journey is unique so you pick the path that best suits you.
** Rolla (All Levels) – Come get your Rolla on! This fun and friendly class will teach you rollerskating skills, tricks and even some dance moves. This all-levels class is open to everyone 14+ years and is constantly changing – so there’s always a new challenge! ** Rolla Workout – Get fit and have some F*cking Fun! Our signature on-skates Rolla fitness class is inspired by the kick-ass sport of women’s rollerderby but is tailored for all levels of rollerskating skills.* You’ll leave this class feeling strong, powerful and ready to Roll Deep. (*must be able to rollerskate forwards, turn around & stop confidently.) This class is only open to women and non-binary folks who are over the age of 14, rollerskate and gear rental is available. So how do I choose which class to attend? The great thing is you don’t have to! We offer drop in options for all of our classes and if you purchase a multi-class pass it’s valid for Intro, Rolla and Rolla Workout classes so you can mix and match. The Rolla and Rolla Workout class format builds upon your existing skills and introduces new ones at each session so you can learn at your own pace – but always feel like you are being challenged.

Rollerderby 101 – *Current session closed. Next session TBD* – Want to be a kick-ass rollerderby skater? This 4 week workshop will teach you all the fundamentals of rollerderby in a safe and supportive adult environment. Learn how to skate fast laps, jam through a pack & land controlled hits. Must have completed Rollerskating 101 course or equivalent. This class is only open to women and non-binary folks who are over the age of 14.
Scrimmage 101 -*Current session closed. Next session TBD* – It’s time to play some rollerderby! If you’ve completed our Rollerderby 101 course or you already have the derby skills and want to get a refresher on current game play, then come join the team! This 4 week workshop will walk you through the positions, strategy and ruleset of modern women’s rollerderby. Get Strong, Make Friends and BE AWESOME! This class is only open to women and non-binary folks who are over the age of 14.
